The Kentucky Board of Auctioneers protects the public through examination, licensure, and regulation of auctioneers, apprentice auctioneers, limited livestock auctioneers and auction house operators. This board is a self-supporting agency, funded by fees paid by Kentucky-licensed auctioneers and auction house operators.

The Kentucky Board of Auctioneers requires licensees to complete a six-hour board-approved auction law core course once every four years to renew their license. The purpose of the Core Course is to assure that all licensees receive training in Kentucky auction law.

License Renewal. Please contact the Board Administrator at 502-782-0722 if you have any questions about renewal. Renewals are due no later than June 30th, failure to pay by this date will add an additional $125.00 late fee.
Examinations for Principal Auctioneer, Apprentice Auctioneer, Livestock Auctioneer and Auction House Operator. The Board of Auctioneers contracts with the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) to proctor exams at 16 locations throughout the state.
The online renewal application will be available on April 5 through the eservices link. The paper renewal application is available on the website under the forms tab if you do not have access to electronic processing. The deadline to renew your auction license is June 30. Late fees will accrue starting July 1.
