JCP at Annapolis mall was owned by a separate mall real estate company. they had an agreement to use the space as a JCP that was coming up for renewal. they decided to redevelop the site and didn't inform corporate until right before this announcement hit. it wasn't a profitability decision, or even a JCP corporate decision, at all. Yeah, i used JCPenney last minute and it was exactly like you mentioned. Being on the other side of the table now seeing applicant photos, getting a professional photographer is well worth it. Just don’t use a dark background as professional photographers seem to favor!! It comes out bad when printed at rank meetings. Use a light background.

Not able to make up their minds on what to sell. They countered 30 years of declining sales with cost cutting that drove them into the ground. Also, a revolving door at the top. Cut benefits, cut hours, then lose good employees, cut more hours, eliminate merchandisers, get rid of commissions, eliminate sales people and registers in departments.
I hate trying to sell credit cards, but I do inform my customers that they can use the card to get double points and better discounts, and then pay it right off, with me, to avoid getting a bill. I ask every customer who pays with the JCPENNEY card if they want to pay it off immediately. Many say yes.
