Now I have a pretty dry cough that is kind of frequent. I feel like a ton of my drainage is likely going down. It sometimes is productive but more than most it’s pretty dry. Not too bad but annoying. I just don’t want this to turn to pneumonia. Any advice and is this normal for day 5. Most importantly, does this cough go away?
By the second day, I noticed a difference. Third day was even better. Fourth day and my cough is gone. The doctor was telling me that covid can cause sinus blockage, and your nasal drip is going back into your lungs. That’s causing phlegm buildup which is causing irritation, and subsequently you cough. Stop the drip, and you get some relief.
My cough lasted two weeks. My kids had a cough for over a month. 4-6 weeks I’d estimate. My husband never had a cough. Only body aches and very sore throat. He had what looked like a small abscess in his throat. I’m the only one who got tested but we all had it.
Unfortunately I developed bronchitis after so my cough lasted nearly a month :/ but I think you're in the clear until 14 days. If it lasts far past that, I would consider seeing a doctor just in case. Right now you're just stuck in the very annoying lingering stage. Glad you're generally on the mend though; hope you're back to 100% soon!
My partner and I are both early 30s, in relatively good health no pre-existing conditions or anything. We both got covid on Christmas, overall pretty mild, felt like a normal cold. First day mild fever, second day brain fog and head congestion, from there it was just this occasional cough and overall fatigue until about 6 days out.
I got covid 2 weeks ago and tested negative 1 week ago. I'm still coughing. How long did everyone's cough last
Cough and loss of smell can continue and you are generally still free of Covid if you’ve already had a fever and it broke with no additional symptoms and you went through your quarantine period of at least 10 days. I’m no doctor, but I’d say you aren’t contagious and are fine so long as you have nothing else going on.
but the biggest remaining symptom i have a persistent cough that does NOT go away. i have cough attacks multiple times a day. they’re dry coughs but i feel postnasal drip but can’t get it out of my throat. short coughs but i have to cough for like 10 mins until it settles (which isn’t long but happens at least 10 times a day)
How long will a cough from Covid last ... How does covid cough usually. 1.7.2022. Dr Wajahat Baig. MBBS ...
Long before COVID I had a post-viral cough that lasted just over 3 months. I'd previously been really fit, but for about 8 weeks straight I coughed every day so violently I usually ended up vomiting. Multiple doctors and no solutions, I remember the day I rode my bike to the end of the street without coughing once, and I knew I'd turned a corner.
