Hillhouse. Aug 21, 2008. 2,430. 113. For the first time in a generation, the USA boy's fastpitch team is one of the best in the world. This is thanks to Cody Gibbins of Minnesota, who is arguably the top pitcher in the world for 18u boys. The USA team beat reigning champs Argentina 2-1 last night in an epic game, Cody had about 13 or 14k's.

A successful FB in college softball is no different than a successful FB in college baseball. You either need that FB to have some movement/action, or you need incredible speed. If you have both, it is surely a blessing. The definition, or name tags, between FP and BB pitches has always been a interesting topic.

Comp. Jun 22, 2008. 3,842. 113. You are confusing terms. A foul tip is a pitched ball that is contacted by the bat and goes sharply and directly to catchers hand or glove and is caught. It is a live ball and runners can advance at their own risk. It is not a caught fly ball so there is no need for the runner to tag up.

Aug 21, 2008. 2,430. 113. For those bored without softball, if you go to the 45:00 mark you'll get to see Mike White pitching. I'm guessing he was in his early 20's at this point. You can tell it's 1984 by the uniforms, lack of batting helmets, the bats being used, etc. And, on top of the announcers being amateurish, and humorous, the color ...

Each kid has a unique sweet spot for spin and velocity. There are caveats. 1. A minimum speed is required for success at higher levels of play. For D1, the minimum speed seems to be around 60MPH. 2. Control is more important than ball movement. 3. Changing speeds is necessary.

Think of it this way, the dimensions to the wall (the face of the wall) are what is measured and marked on the signs. The boundary is the FACE of the wall and extends upwards. If the ball hits the TOP of the wall it has left live-ball area ...

For comparison's sake, we sell 62 fastpitch bat models with various drop sizes, yet we sell 146 baseball bat models. I suspect MD is similar to where I am in NY and might have a lot of boys playing LaCrosse. But even where I am, baseball dominates in sheer numbers. Our HS had 15 girls play softball, but the baseball team had 41 players between ...

I caught one of the most amazing fast pitch pitchers, who threw 86-87 mph and when he threw his rise, the ball would break approximately 30-36 inches the last ten feet. I know it sounds crazy, but it’s the truth.
