I saw it over the weekend - I liked him too!! He actually looked a little bit (don’t laugh) like Harve Presnell in Unsinkable Molly Brown. ….. I really liked the guys playing Riff and Bernardo also. I was all set not to like it but was really pleasantly surprised.
He reminds me of the actor who played the husband in Unsinkable Molly Brown, Harve Presnell, who I also think is ugly. Plus, he has a big head and a very wimpy, underdeveloped body. He looks like a lollipop.
November 14, 2021 3:47 PM. [quote]Dearest R32, Barbra Streisand was already the biggest star on the planet before a minute of Funny Girl was filmed. I'm guessing that R32 was referring specifically to her film career ("it was the birth of a true movie star'), since FG was her very first movie. by Anonymous.

Evita. It was on a trip to NYC for the first time in the early 80s. Sadly, though, it was well into the run, and I saw Loni Ackerman, who was speaking more than half the lyrics the night I saw her rather than singing them.
Frankly, anything starring Madeline Ashton! There was a ghastly play by Christopher Isherwood and Don Bachardy which featured Keith Baxter, Sam Jaffe and DL fave hustler, Keith McDermott, at the Palace titled A Meeting By The River. I think it lasted 2 performances. Nobody wanted to like it. R436.
Most Overrated Vocalist. Only ACTUAL singers please (no Britney, Madonna, Janet, etc.). My choice is Barbra Streisand. You can tell she doesn't really like to sing (and she has admitted this), her voice is "pretty" but that's about it. On her duet with Donna Summer, Summer destroys her and really lets loose.
