I think i figured it out! I've been fighting with this problem for a long time as well. I finally somehow managed to open my EA account through trying to install an EA game from my Epic Games Store account. It was such a great achievement that I then proceeded to changing my EA account's settings so that I wouldn't be locked out in the future.
