Kingler has this ridic dynamic/perspectiveish look. I feel like there were three artists doing the sprites, one doing rad action sprites like scyther, one doing solid workmanlike static sprites like nidoqueen, and one doing pure derp magic. Rapidash is pure derp magic. 1st gen Blastoise looked better with less color.
Gen 1 was the best because of the game, the manga, and the anime combined. 3 very different interpretations of the Pokemon world. Anime got worse. Manga got harder to find (can't find a good scan of the full series anywhere myself😭 if you do message me please)

The main tab is the complete Pokedex, with national dex numbers, regional dex numbers, base stats, typings, abilities, height/weight, ev's, etc. The other tab is good for comparing a couple of Pokemon (or building teams). I also have hidden tabs that I had begun to put together for Nuzlocke purposes, so feel free to ignore them.
Of course it was limited, it didn't have 8 generations to pull from, just one. And it had the absolute best Pokémon of any gen. #001 in the dex, #1 in our hearts, Bulbasaur. If you didn't grow up as the generation of kids that first played gen 1, then you probably don't like it, but those of us who did, it is overwhelmingly the fan favorite.
