The gold coating can be achieved thru a chemical process known as PVD on metal parts. Hence, it's not worth. What you should be concerned are the certified version of the cable.
Joined. Jan 4, 2011. Messages. 2. Real Name. Shahzad. Hey everyone, I saw a deal for a Precision Acoustic 5.1 set with selling for $500. Bestbuy claims that the it's on sale from $1000 but I don't know if I believe it. Anyway, I was wondering what peoples opinions are on this brand or these speakers specifically.
53. Scott, I believe the formula most often referred to is 1" of screen for every 2" of distance away. If you're 8.5 feet away, that's 102". Half of that is 51". So a 51" screen would probably be fine. All I can tell you is that my sitting distance is about the same as yours, and I have a 46" RPTV. I'm perfectly happy with it.
A friend and I went up Wycombe 6, January 1990, and there playing was Arachnophobia in Dolby SR THX sound system. We arrived 15mins late show had started so we waited for next show. I stepped in and stood at the back of the auditorium, WOW oh my! It was pressing against my feet. legs waist, chest arms, face, the whole body. Awesome!
Sam Lacanilao. I recall an earlier post, possibly not on this forum that included Sinclair Audio Speakers as White Van and garbage. I went to a specialty store the other day and they had some Sinclair speakers from the Brighton Line - towers, bookshelfs, centers, in the demo room and they sounded at least to my somewhat untrained ear quite good.
239. I've heard this sub, and own its smaller sibling the PV600 (10"/120watts) The Pv1000 sub has a 10" driver, and 10" passive radiator. All controls are are the front which is nice. Also this sub is 1000 watts in 4 ohms!! So it's got some real power. Perhaps too much. It can acutally lift itself in the air if you give it a real good loud bass ...
I recently purchase the Monster Video 3 2M component cables for $75 and did not really notice any difference over $25 RCA brand component cables that I had hooked up earlier. Oh yeah, my TV is a Mitsubishi WS-65819 Platinum Series and I have a Samsung Progressive Scan DVD player.
This is a very well know scam. Search GOOGLE for 'white van speakers' and you will see hundreds of posts from folks. You will also find many of the 'brand' names these crooks use. There's not much you can do about it now. Just be sure to checkout sites like this one before you make purchases in the future (a good idea for all purchases).
Greg. You want something solid that will couple the speaker to the mass of the floor. Steel is more dense and will do a better job (vs. wood). Hollow stands allow you to fill the stand with sand or lead shot (more weight & mass). BlueTak is a good way of ensuring that the speaker doesn't slip around on the stand.
