Then I opened up VLC Media Player and go to View Tab and I saw the Audio CD Ripping Helper so I clicked on it and i saw Source MRL: cdda:///D:/ (D drive is my CD drive letter). Then I typed the total number of tracks in this CD which is 14 and the output options I left it as Audio CD-->mp3.

Hi, I'm using VLC on Ubuntu Gnome 18.04. Lately, the interface of VLC is abnormally large. Like it's zoomed 300% or something. It looks kind of similar to how I imagine VLC would look on something like a 640x480 screen (mine is 1980x1200), although not exactly because text size doesn't seem to be effected, and video playback works fine. You can create a copy of VLC desktop shortcut, rename it and edit its properties (right-click context menu) to append a space and url to "\vlc.exe". Top.

The only way to to get both the music playing and lyrics displaying is to go to media -> open file, then choosing your CDG file. While in the open dialog you then have to tick 'show more options' -> tick 'play another media synchronously' and selecting the appropriate mp3 file.
