Greenville (/ ˈ ɡ r iː n v ɪ l / GREEN-vil; locally / ˈ ɡ r iː n v əl / GREEN-vəl) is a city in and the county seat of Greenville County, South Carolina, United States.With a population of 70,720 at the 2020 census, it is the sixth-most populous city in the state.

Higher water levels are eroding beaches, submerging low lands, and exacerbating coastal flooding.
