On the other hand, Yellowstone is like visiting an amusement park of natural wonders. There are a seemingly infinite number of beautiful and ever-evolving geologic features. There are vast, deep forests, waterfalls and canyons. Nothing in Yellowstone is static, even the ground itself is changing.

Very easy. About 4-5 hours once the park is open, but there could be traffic anywhere that would extend that drive time. If roadwork is still going at at the Old Faithful overpass you'd need to add 30 minutes to that estimate. The earliest date you could do that drive in May 7th, iirc. About five hours.

Welcome to Billings. Although it’s about a 100 air miles from Billings, you’ll be hard pressed to drive to Yellowstone in less than 2 1/2 hours. Likely more. The obvious entrance from Billings is via Red Lodge/Cooke City (US 212) or via Cody, WY.
