I believe the Oppo’s proprietary WiFi dongle can only handle 2.4 while the Roku can do 5.0 speeds via WiFi. BTW, aside from being much cheaper on the reseller market, the 103 and 105 will decode and play HDCDs, the newer 200 series Oppos do not decode HDCDs and will only play such discs as standard CDs.
The firmware history for the 203/205 was from 2016 to 2019. At that time the Blu-ray format was well established and by 2019 the 4k UHD format was well on it's way. Also, early 103s could read ISOs and SACD-Rs too. But these were updated within about 6 months of introduction, so the odds that it has that firmware are very slim. Also the 103 is a potential SACD ripper if you wanted, whereas the 93 is not. And the 93 has analog video outputs whereas the 103 does not.
London. If all you want is a transport, don't spend that much money. The Oppos are excellent, but the value is only really realised if you start using their multitude of features, including SACD, DVD-A, DVD-V, Blu Ray, etc etc. The DACs on the Oppo are also both well designed and well implemented. shug4476, May 21, 2022.

The Oppo seems to still be playing the Disc, but it looks like the yamaha is struggling to lock-on the signal. As occasionally music will come out for a second or 2, then off again for a few minutes. I played with return Audio and some other settings on the Yamaha, but no change.

What your friend has to do ist this: connect the Oppo via the analog outs to the Naim, make sure that the Oppo audio settings are set to DSD (not PCM) and the stereo layer for SACDs is selected. Than it should work. Does the Oppo 203 have analogue outs, and if connected this way will it play BDs & DVDs.
Happened to my 103. Oppo resolved everything in a week, for the advertised fixed fee. My reading suggests that, nicely built as Oppos are, the laser pickup assembly has a documented history of failure. Very few occurrences, but it does happen from time to time. That means Oppo should have ample replacement parts on hand. Just arrange to send it in.
Oppo was still selling at their retail price but other stores that had Oppo players in stock started price gouging. I figured that it was time I either **** or get off the pot, so I took the plunge and got an Oppo UDP-203. Aside from thinking maybe I should have gone for the UDP-205 instead, I feel that my Oppo is the best thing I've ever owned.
