Powers Boulevard will eventually become a freeway bypass of the Colorado Springs metro area. The construction is in two phases, I-25 is involved in phase 1, where a new directional T-interchange (Y- interchange) will be built near exit 156 at North Gate Boulevard between milemarkers 149 and 151.
