1. went into "device manager" and click on "USB Optical Mouse" and it says "driver not installed" 2. so i click "update driver".....then "automatic driver search".... response is "Windows unable to install driver" "windows could not find driver" 3. so I uninstall driver and restart... no go. 4. try another install....same result as line 2 above
The current version of the HID-Compliant Mouse Driver is 10.0.22000.653. To check for the driver updates. From Device Manager, I clicked on my mouse that just said ‘HID-compliant mouse’ and said to update the driver and pointed it to the extracted folder and it found it straight away. Went from the crappy MS 2006 driver to an MS SideWinder 2013 driver. It still didn’t show up in the Center so have to do the next step.
