Lycanite's mobs adds a worm-creature to deserts, and I don't really want to make a dancing mariachi cactus monster. Something with a lizard could work, but the idea needs more meat to it. I was thinking adding a semi-boss to desert temples - some sort of Anubite monster.
Lycanites mobs has a mob called a roc that pics up and carries things into the air. It has other flying mobs that shoot projectiles and he has a massive variety of mobs mostly melee and ranged mobs with potion effects, some flying mobs. It doesn't have animated and scripted mobs like mowzies but adds new regularly and are interesting looking.

If its attack is basic melee, then the axe could pull or push mobs, blocks, etc. Alternatively, if the previous ideas are either too hard to implement, or uninteresting, the helmet could allow a form of slow, steady flight, like hover mode on a jetpack from IC2 or Mekanism, and the axe could act like a boomerang as well as a melee weapon.
