Description and history. The house was constructed of brick, stone and native wood in 1899 as a home for Christopher Flintoff Dlxon Jr. (b. 1861 in Ohio) whose family arrived in Payson in 1862 as pioneer Mormon settlers. He did well in cattle and wheat and eventually arranged to have this eclectic Victorian home built. It is a local landmark. [2]

The Dixon House Band was a prog-rock/pop group based in Seattle, Washington in the late 1970s. It issued one album on New York City-based Infinity Records in 1979 entitled Fighting Alone and had a minor chart hit with the song "Sooner Or Later". The band got its name from the founder and keyboard player/lead vocalist, Dixon House.
