The Pixel 5 is my first Pixel after using a variety of Android phones and even venturing to the iPhone side for two years. The Pixel 5 is a great phone, but there are a few inexcusable shortcomings. You feel the slowness of the processor when searching the settings for a keyword. It also rears its ugly head when taking photos.
Pixel 7 coming from Surface Duo 2: Pixel 7 is great I love the smaller size and feel . Spigen cases fit perfectly. Great photos/video/spam protection , great AI features very fast long battery that got even better with A14. Chaep paid less than $300, love it and $1000+ less than SD2.
If it is, just make these changes and you'll battery life will improve: Go to 'Home settings' or 'Pixel Launcher Settings'. Turn off anything that you don't need. For me it's: Turn off 'At a Glance' (if you don't use it.) Turn off 'Swipe to access Google app'. Turn off 'Overview suggestions'.
What I miss: The ability to take pictures with super high resolution. The Huawei had the option to take pictures with a resolution of 7296 x 5472 pixels. With the pixel, I can only take pictures with a resolution of 4080 x 3072 pixels. It is still a great resolution but you cannot zoom in very good after taking the picture.
I upgraded from a Pixel 5 to 8, partly because the 5 was no longer receiving security updates, partly because the 8 should receive seven years of updates. And the Pixel 8 is fine. Really, it's fine. It's a touch taller - 5.8mm apparently - and 36g heavier. But it's absolutely still a phone you can hold and use with one hand.
Camera on the Pixel Fold is far superior to the Fold 5 and the AI features of Google Pixel phones shines over Samsung. OneUI on foldable phones is superior to Google, but suffers from the usual OneUI issues of duplicate apps and Samsung forcing their own services down users throats. Reply reply.

It was already getting ridiculous with the thousands of gun parts needed to make mediocre guns but the Battle Royale was one of my last straws. I felt like the direction of the game was just cash grab.
