The Orange County Library System (OCLS) is a public library system serving the Orlando area of Central Florida. The headquarters are in the Orlando Public Library in Downtown Orlando. The System consists of 15 total locations, the main library (Orlando Public Library) and 14 branch locations.
The library was originally established as a subscription-based library in 1854, but changed to a free public library upon the donation of a new building by Andrew Carnegie in 1904. The Carnegie library was the main headquarters of the NEKLS and the main library in Lawrence until 1972 when a new modern library replaced it.

The Allen County Public Library (ACPL) is a public library system located in Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana, United States. Founded in 1895 as the Fort Wayne Public Library , the library served residents with 3,606 books out of a single room in City Hall .
On September 27, 1977, the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners voted to establish a Library System for the County, along with a Library Advisory Board. Within 10 years a new 15,000 square foot Main Library would be opened, followed in coming years by the construction of five more branch libraries and the addition of two bookmobiles.
These two finally got the committee to recommend the formation of a unified county library system to the County Commissioners on April 12, 1961. By September 1961, the county library system went into operation and a library board member was appointed who then in turn hired the first Director of the Volusia County Public Library.
Owatonna's public library was established in 1896 by a legacy donation of $5,000 (equivalent to $183,120 in 2023) from an Owatonna citizen. Votes passed in 1898 and 1899 to provide public funds for the construction of a dedicated library building.
Located in downtown Alpena, the Alpena County George N. Fletcher Public Library was established in 1967 as a county library. Prior to 1967, the public library was part of the Alpena Public School system and was housed in the high school. For the next seven years it occupied two storefronts on North Second Avenue.
