The idea of combining mail clients on Windows to a singular Outlook client is fantastic. The execution at the moment leaves all of their Business Basic users without a usable desktop client. To make matters worse, sometimes New Outlook will accept a Business Basic account and let it work. I have multiple clients where this is the case.

You can revert to the old outlook, add your account.. then toggle to te new one and it will allow your account to be added to the new one bypassing Microsoft's lockout of Basic Bussiness e-mails to new outlook. :-) It's a feature. I can attest that it works. I've tested it in two separate machines.
If the problem persists, to see if it is related to the account added in your Windows, please kindly go to Windows Settings > Accounts > Email & accounts and remove your work account here. Then please try adding it into your Outlook again to see if it helps. Hope this helps.

I tested on my end on an iPhone and added two separate accounts, after adding your accounts you can click on the home button to select which accounts emails you would like to view, and not mix up the folders. Replied on December 19, 2023. Report abuse. Hello AjN3806, Thanks for reaching out! The M365 classic outlook is still the recommended version for a business setting. The New Outlook for Windows is planned to replace the Windows Mail and Calendar app rather than the classic 365 outlook.
