SCS is a 3A member of the South Carolina High School League, [9] with boys and girls teams competing in 19 sports. [10] In 2009–2010, 2010–2011, 2020, 2021, and 2022 the Lady Sabre volleyball team won the Class A State Championship. Southside is the first high school in South Carolina to offer an International Baccalaureate Diploma Program and Advanced Placement Program.
