  4. Q Significance and values - GEDmatch Forums

I've been playing with this tool - recently someone contacted me who may be a distant relative. At 7 Cm I get no segment matches. Reducing to 3 Cm I get 40 Cm of matches across 10 segments. Largest segment is 4.75 Cm. Most of those segments have lowish Q scores but 3 have Q=17, Q=18 and Q=29. This seems significant - is it ?

Hence the suggestion to use very high Precision parameters, like in the area of 100 in assessing IBD or IBC. I'm thinking that a Q score of 49 given a Precision of 30 for a segment sized about 20 cM and 2,900 SNPs should be interpreted as "just average" relative to other segments of the same size, but "almost certainly real" in terms of ...

    forums.gedmatch.com/BB/viewtopic.php?t=198

Right now, I prefer to be cautious about over-interpreting individual segment matches. If Q matching says a segment is good, or bad, that's only an expression about the degree of uncertainty associated with a particular segment. Even for segments at long as 15 cM, there has always been some uncertainty about whether the match is "real ...

The company you used, AncestryDNA, no longer does haplogroup testing. Companies that currently do mtDNA tests include Family Tree DNA, 23andMe, and YFull. You would have to buy a test from one of them or from another reliable provider. Family Tree DNA is the best choice for this. My kit number is T544042.

Sephardic Jewish. by Charlie » Tue Sep 01, 2020 3:47 am. Hi Everyone: first post! my FTDNA revealed 15% Iberian and 7% Sephardic - very cool but unexpected. My mom had taken the 23&Me V5 test so i uploaded our raw data to GEDmatch and ran them through the various calculators. We've both turned up Sephardic at Dodecad, HarappaWorld, puntDNAL.

Single Population Sharing attempts to pinpoint a specific, single population that your DNA most ...
