Holland America Line. Koningsdam Alaska cruise review 6/17-6/24. After relying on the CC boards so much as I planned our trip, I want to pay it forward by sharing our experiences on our Alaskan cruise aboard HA's Koningsdam. We were a group of 6, ranging from 40-80 in age, and everyone had cruised before, although not with Holland America.
Expand. Yes the N.Statendam and the Rotterdam are Pinnacle class ships and have Vista Suites in desirable locations (aft and mid-ship), but those don't give the full Suite experience. If you can and choose to afford it, the Signature Suite is the real deal. 1.
The other thing I noticed was that the auto-gratuities don't seem to really line up with what's said online. We are in a Vista Suite and I see online that $16/person/room or $17.50/person/suite. $16 x 7 days = $112 and $17.50 x 7 is $122.50. However my option online to pre-pay crew gratuities is $145.60 per person....

The dress code is very relaxed, but how "dressy" you should expect to be for depends on your itinerary, so where you're going will impact what you want to wear for dinner. Longer cruises and European cruises, for example, tend to be dressier.
