Good for them following their dream. He did a great job at WYFF. In other local news business Sinclair (which WLOS is part of) has shut down (or in the process of) a few of their local TV station's news programming, laying off newsroom staff and replacing the local news with their syndicated program "The National Desk" with more to come. Ouch!

speaking of meteorologists/weather teams for our local market: Chris Justus/WYFF team is by far the best - for such a large TV market, Christy Henderson of WSPA is awful/horrible (she is especially bad during severe weather events) - she belongs in a small TV market - Malachi Rodgers is so much better - he should be chief meteorologist or in a ...

The last veteran anchor reporter departing from WYFF-TV I recall was Gordon Dill. Dill, a weekday morning anchor, was shifted to weekend morning co-anchor with Myra Ruiz. Geoff Hart was promoted from sports director to weekday morning news anchor. Dill departed and went to WSPA-TV.

These other stations as well as WYFF-4 have a bit more serious and professional style of presentation. Remains to be seen. Maybe they will bring some professionalism for a change, and do away with stuff like "Local Steals and Deals".

I wonder if Carolina's Family at 4PM, a local highlight show, will switch to 7 News at 4PM and become an actual newscast. In regards to disappearing news personalities, anchor Julie Edwards has left. Edwards was a weekday morning anchor for Carolina Morning. WSPA appears to be looking for a weekend morning anchor.

WYFF weekday morning anchor Amanda Crawford is leaving for a job in Boston. Seems like WYFF4 has been a big revolving door for talent the last few years, especially on the morning show. But also changes with the main evening weather and sports anchors in the last year, as Cessarich retired.
