Silver Glen Springs funnels and flows 3,300 feet into Lake George, the second largest lake in Florida behind Lake Okeechobee. The spring is also an important archaeological site. Large mounds behind fences are marked and considered a sacred space for Native Americans.
This is part of the Ocala National Forest and therefore requires an entry fee to the recreation area. As of Dec 2020 it was $6.42/person. The area has many picnic tables, swimming area, bathrooms, changing area, and two hiking trails.
