Others, such as 'The Amazing Mr. Blunden' and 'The Computer Who Wore Tennis Shoes', were childhood favorites I hadn't seen in years. There's actually quite a few of those 60s and 70s Disney throwaway flicks on there, such as In Search of the Castaways, Charley and the Angel, etc. Plus some classics, like Mary Poppins.

  4. Why doesn't HBO Max have Dream On or First and Ten?

    forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/why-doesnt-hbo-max-have-dream-on-or-first-and...

I haven't, honestly, tuned in anything HBO since the mid-90's, after coming home from work one night and channel-surfing by to find some distasteful "documentary" or something that featured domestic cats in cages being brutalized and killed. Didn't stick around to find out what it was, just programmed the channel out of the tv and never looked ...

I love Taylor, esp. 1989. But as someone who plays her songs on the piano, I can tell you there's nothing inherently unique about her chord progressions. When she's at her best, it all is just really well-done - the chord progression, the melody, the rhythms, the lyrics. Blank Space is a great example. Pretty common chord progression, but it's ...

  7. What's your cable / satellite provider history?

    forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/whats-your-cable-satellite-provider-history.599970

I've left behind cable and satellite, and watch everything via either a BluRay player or a Roku box. I've lost any patience with commercials. More exciting and interesting to me is ISPs. My first was the the first commercial ISP, The World in Boston. We had to call long distance from Kansas City to log in via a VT-100 emulator on an Amiga 1000.

Strangely the 'Cure Store' itself seems to give little information, but the 'Procurements' store (I don't understand what and indeed why the difference, as it too resides at thecure.com) only has the word 'instrumental' listed against the packs that include the deluxe CD. Someone on Reddit shared that the SOALW site is UMG, while the ...

    forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/history-of-the-dumont-television-network.22032

A number of factors made DuMont history by 1956. But its influence in American television continues to be felt today. The venture was the brainchild of a brilliant scientist named Dr. Allen B. DuMont, who founded his DuMont Laboratories in 1931. The labs were in DuMont's garage; he started the firm with $1000.

This box is what the U.S. Army used to hold ammunition in. Before this sets off any alarms, my father was in the U.S. Army and while living in Germany, these empty boxes were a dime a dozen, so for a kid, they were great to store stuff in. One of the uses for this box I found as a 12 year old in 1981 was to put the recently used HBO / Cinemax ...
