Backup your Epig Games folder from before you format your PC and reinstall windows. Then on the fresh Windows before you run Epic Games, place your Epic Games library folder back where it was before the install and then move the Epic Games folder you backed up back into and then run Epic Games launcher.
possible fix from the steam workshop for everyone who finds this in the future. right click task bar then click task manager, if it is running on background without you knowing it (Processes), end task ubisoft then enter again. if it doesn't work then, restart your computer and try again. I fixed mine.

In this way the new separate game will open the same initial launcher where you already have your credentials and where you also installed the games. I kept as non-steam games the first Ubisoft Connect launcher (redirected to the Ubisoft Connect.exe and not the installer) and then i created another one with this method for AC II.
Turn off your Internet ... launch Ubisoft connect click go offline, run your game. Appreciate the video but the issue I'm having is getting the game to launch once I have the game pulled up in the Ubisoft launcher (offline mode) I press the Play button and the game never launches. That's where I'm hitting a roadblock.
The old launcher was one of the last few vertical based ones, I honestly do not like how everything is looking the same, Their already putting ads for games in other games loading screens, I am certain this new launcher has some invasive elements. I don't trust this move, because I just want a simple launcher without ads or anything.

Then you can install/play games under the same prefix, lauching Ubisoft Connect each time. 2. Or, install each game in a separate prefix, so you can launch them directly via Desktop link or Heroic (The solution I use)

The shortcut may still not always find the game. Go to desktop-mode and launch the game in Steam there. Cancel the installation prompt and open UbisoftConnect that should be running (click on the bottom right in the system tray). The launcher should open and you can provide the path to the game folder here.
