The port is North America's largest man-made small-craft harbor and is home to approximately 5,000 boats.
Overlooking the Los Angeles Harbor is the Cabrillo Beach Fishing Pier. Built in 1969 inside the breakwater, the pier runs 1,200 feet (370 m) parallel with the breakwater.
