The response above seems to imply that non-AARP providers should have the same price whether you go to Expedia directly or the AARP travel center, and the AARP provider would be cheaper in the AARP travel center. That is not the case. For some flights, AARP travel center is more expensive. It does not make sense to me and is misleading.

I was curious and peeked at the " $50 off hotels on the AARP Travel Center Powered by Expedia " item. Interesting. Then I peeked at the terms. Among the various restrictions, Term and Condition #2 has a very long list of places not to stay to use this deal. That's a heck of a lot of exclusions and a bunch of names I recognize.

04-23-2024 11:50 AM. AARP Travel Center - Car Rental Ripoff. The only problem we had on our recent trip to Italy was with the Car Rental made through the AARP Travel Center (Expedia). AARP Expedia Travel is a ripoff. This is a comment directed towards the AARP Expedia travel benefits. I’ve used it over the last 4 - 5years and like many things the quality of the service has declined rapidly. I booked two separate hotels in Minneapolis. Both of them were poor quality, dirty, and they seem to house a lot of homeless people ...

  10. AARP Travel Center $100 Hotel Coupon - what's the catch?

07-25-2024 01:53 PM. Another trick to effectively using this coupon is to compare the AARP/Expedia price to other travel sites before booking to see if you are actually saving money. I am currently looking at a 1-night stay that the AARP/Expedia site is quoting at $177 all-in (minus $100). A quick look at Priceline shows the same room for $107 ...

  11. AARP travel power by Expedia a rip-off and so is AARP

    community.aarp.org/t5/Benefits-Discounts/AARP-travel-power-by-Expedia-a-rip...

AARP travel power by Expedia a rip-off and so is AARP. I booked a hotel room through AARP's travel benefit powered by Expedia. It was at the Fairfield Inn in Crete, Nebraska. The price they showed was $111 per night which would have been $555 plus taxes. Instead I was charged 156 per night for a total of $887 with taxes.
