    That’s a fair pt, but ppl should have library access even if they don’t pay taxes and are or have been part of the community currently (children, unhoused ppl, unemployed ppl, college students who don’t live there currently, disabled ppl etc) — it’s a social service, not a private club you pay for.

    MLK library at San Jose state has nice kids section! Palo Alto children’s library, first dedicated children’s library in the country! I think most libraries in South Bay are pretty child-friendly, I've been to MTV, Palo Alto, Cupertino, and Saratoga, and they're all very clean and well organized.

    Almost every San Jose Public Library has a quiet area or room, you can see the layout by clicking on the branch and viewing the floor plan, but my favorite is the Bascom branch. There is a dip in the road right outside the large quiet room windows that cars take way too fast, so it's a random 2 second built in distraction!
