Philippine Airlines ( PAL) is the flag carrier of the Philippines. [ 11] Headquartered at the PNB Financial Center in Pasay, the airline was founded in 1941 and is the oldest operating commercial airline in Asia. Cebu Air, Inc. ( PSE : CEB ), operating as Cebu Pacific (stylized in lowercase ), is a Philippine low-cost airline based at Pasay in Metro Manila. Founded in 1988, [ 2] it is Asia's first low-cost airline and the Philippines' largest leading airline. [ 7][ 8][ 9] It offers scheduled flights to both domestic and international destinations.
Seven of these airports were in the initial CAAP list in 2008: [ 2] Clark, Davao, Laoag, Mactan–Cebu, Manila–Ninoy Aquino, Kalibo and Puerto Princesa. The only airport elevated to international status since 2008 has been the Iloilo Airport, [ 4] where scheduled international service began in 2012.
