I like the service. Picture quality and audio is really good. The stream rarely has issues. The dvr is good enough for my usage. All of my areas local channels are on there. The cost got to be the deal breaker for me. I was on a grandfathered “Live A Little” plan that I had since it was DIRECTV Now.
Ad handling seems to be better and more consistent (though I saw more of them on identical on-demand content... Mythbusters, 3rd season, same episode... where DirecTV had 6 commercial breaks, YTTV had 9, in comparison, and DirecTV's ads were shorter). DirecTV Wins: Picture quality.

Questions About DirecTV Stream. My peeps are in the market for a live TV streaming service. We are encountering problems with our current service, YouTube TV, and are exploring the possibility of switching to DirecTV Stream. While we all live together in a large split-level apartment, three of us have small studio apartments elsewhere in the city.
Also switched from U-verse to DTV Stream when I moved into a new house last March. The cost savings, so far, are significant. Almost $50 a month less (from $220/month to $175/month). But there are three negatives…. Only 20 hours of DVR space vs 80 hours with U-verse….
You can now get refurbished direct from DirecTV Stream for 49.99, same as on eBay. The difference is that the refurbished from DirecTV Stream are fully supported. The official DirecTV box is decent, but I still prefer one of the newer Apple TV boxes. I don't think they're worth it except for one circumstance.
