    There is no charge to use Roku. The only time you would pay Roku is if you purchase a subscription "through" Roku. For most channels/apps, you can choose to pay the provider directly, or consolidate your subscriptions through Roku. (in this manner, you pay Roku; Roku pays the providers).

    I have the Netflix app on my Roku Express. Netflix (curse them) discontinued my basic 720p plan and my last payment date to Netflix was June 19.
