Waikiki Biltmore Hotel. / 21.27611°N 157.82528°W / 21.27611; -157.82528. The Waikiki Biltmore Hotel was a resort hotel in Waikīkī, Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, that operated from 1955 to 1974. The Biltmore was the first high-rise hotel on Waikīkī but operated for only 19 years, after which it was demolished and replaced with the Hyatt Regency.
As of late 2020, Honolulu had 92 high-rise buildings over 300 feet (91 meters) in height, with four more under construction. [1] The first high-rise that exceeded 350 ft was the Ala Moana Hotel built in 1970. The next high-rise was the Yacht Harbor Towers followed by the Hawaii Monarch Hotel and the Discovery Bay Center.
