I am unable to sign in to one of my bank accounts on Microsoft Edge. I see no solutions offered to this problem brought up in April 2023; this is now October. When I went through this with the bank they suggested trying another browser, which I did, as I happened to also have Firefox on my laptop, and I was able to sign in.
I can navigate to the site, and get to the log in screen. Once I enter my credentials, EDGE will take a long pause and return a blank white screen. No errors given. After this started occurring I also lost the ability to download transactions into my Quicken accounting software for this same bank. This ONLY occurs with the single banking site.
The problem is not with my bank because I CAN login on using the laptop I wanted to replace (I think Win 8) and my work laptop (Windows 10). Mine both have Norton, but the work one is managed by the company so I don't think the problem is with a virus protection program. I am at a complete loss and I'm about at the end of my rope!
Firefox and Chrome let you sign in to save and/or sync your Favorites on any other device you sign into, and are more reliable than Edge at doing this. Set the preferred browser as Default in Settings > Apps > Default Apps.
I am using Windows 10, but in Settings - Updates & Security - Windows Updates it has notice that PC doesn't meet minimum system requirements to run Windows 11 and am wondering if an update may have caused this issue. I have tried multiple banks (Bank of America, Citibank and Regions) therefore I know it is not an individual bank website issue.
My bank website I've been using and accessing for 3 years on this same PC suddenly stopped recognizing my device about 4 months ago. I have to get an access pin text to finish logging in. I spoke at length to the bank tech and we could not find anything on their end. I check the box "remember this device" every time, but it still happens.
Open your bank account page, then click the 3 dots at the top right and select Apps and you can create an app for that webpage there That will appear in the alphabetical list on your Start Menu, find that new app and then click and drag it onto your Desktop. _____
I don't think Edge is compatible with online banking. I can get to the start page of my bank, a large national one, but entering the username and password only leads to a repeated page with username and password blanks. Changing the password is fairly useless, since after doing so, you can't use the new one.
