The only way to learn is to try.Place your first pixel, then make a line, then make a curve and keep on adding/modifying your drawing. I have 0 art background (theory and stuff so there is no excuse). The one thing that made me start was paying for software. Am i gonna pay and not use it? I pushed myself to draw that first pixel.

Definitely give Pixel Studio a try. It's definitely the best Android has to offer and I believe it's fairly new. Dotpict seems good, even tho the gallery is full of strange anime stuff. I use Pixel Studio. Simple and easy for a beginner like me. Pixaki is the best app I've found. Way more powerful than DotPic.
