My student also emailed the assigned admissions counselor in regards to this semester’s grades (4.0) and asked if it is best to self report the grades or send in transcript when it becomes available. Still no reply to the email. I’m quite disappointed in the way LSU handles admissions. It wasn’t like this when I attended LSU.

LSU was a strong choice at first, but now she has been admitted to better schools, and even her dream school. Her friends have heard back that had applied months after her. I wish that this was truly rolling, and there was at least a time estimate, since she only has one more school EA and regular starts coming out soon.
LSU has moved to holistic admissions. My son applied early to several schools and has already gotten accepted at 3 schools with rolling admission and automatic acceptance standards: Texas State, UH, and Texas Tech. And just to add to my statements and the logic: LSU is rolling admissions, so students should expect a shorter timeframe to hear admissions decisions. Some schools state the day by when they will get back to you and that is fair. But if you are rolling admissions, the expectation is higher that you will get a response within 4 to 6 weeks.
this is exactly how I feel. I submitted 11/15 and application was processed 11/16. I emailed admissions counselor explaining how LSU is my top choice and I am holding out for them. LSU and Alabama gave him about the same merit $ but LSU will still cost slightly less than Alabama. Tennessee would be the most expensive for us by far. They are all nice schools so any will be a good choice I think. It’s what they do when they are there (I hope my son takes that to heart ). Of course LSU is the furthest away from us in distance
I emailed my admissions counselor but never got a response. I called and was told that the admissions team is sorting through applications and we will know once they get to ours. We have heard from all of the other schools that were rolling admissions. LSU is one of our top choices so we are anxiously awaiting a decision.
