    I have a M1924 Yugo Mauser, and bought this book at a gunshow a few years ago. For the M24/47, it says that 10,935 new rifles were made in 1947. It also says that an additional 50,000 rifles were converted in 1949 to M24/47 configuration. It lists tables as to what stampings you should see and where.

    The bolt carrier/piston assembly arrived. It looks clean and fits fine. Attached is a pic of the original assembly from Century (right of photo) and the "new" Romanian assembly (left of photo). Not sure if the Tapco replacement piston from Century was short and that Century had to use a spacer or if thats the way its built up by Tapco.

    The model was officially adopted in 1925, despite production beginning in 1924, as the Moschetto Modello 91/24. The process was conducted only at Terni and carried on until 1929. The thrifty scheme was a success. The 91/24 short rifles were inexpensive and easy to produce; they were handy and light, highly mobile.
