Inventory changes all the time, so you'll need to keep checking if they don't currently have a model you want. There is no way for you or anyone at your local Apple Store to tell the difference. They do not use repaired failed quality control devices.

You should take the phone into an Apple-approved shop, or Apple store, and speak to them about a possible fix. Refurbished iPhone says the battery is not genuine. .
