IPOD Nano USB connection help. Picked up the 18' Touring yesterday. Initial impression, the brown leather interior looks substantially better in person than in any of the pics and videos I've seen. Anyway, the car does "recognize" my Ipod, but after a few minutes of a "loading media" message, I get a "no media files can be played" message.

High bit media files through a direct wired connection exceeds the sound quality of anything you are going to get through Sirius or Bluetooth. With the Outback 2020, however, there are some obstacles to overcome.

Using an old iPod via USB. I'm a little bummed out that my Outback can't seem to figure out how to connect to an old iPod that I have. I don't know the model number, but it's old enough that it has the "wheel" control interface, and the old-style Apple connector (the connector is maybe an inch wide). It does have a color screen, and has 32 Gig ...

I have a 5th GEN iPod classic and a 2022 Subaru Outback Limited. I can confirm utilizing the 30 pin docking connector to USB the vehicle will not recognize the iPod even though the screen is selected iPod/iPhone. This seems to be another software bug with the 11.6 inch Denso 1.0 2020 - 2022 infotainment system.

media music player for 2019 Outback. I have a new 2019 Subaru Outback and have tried to connect several older iPods as media storage devices to play songs from my music library. None of them worked. I read in the manual that the iPod touch (5 th generation) and the iPod nano (7th generation) are compatible.

I used an iPod nano fit completely inside a universal cell phone case. It is tucked in the bottom of the lower compartment with a super short usb/ipod cable plugged into the usb port. Never touch it unless taking it in the house to load new music. The case protects it from anything tossed in on top.

That doesn't sound right. We routinely keep both a USB thumb drive and an old iPod Nano always plugged in, and both show up on the source selection screen. If the USB source was playing when the car was shut off, it resumes from where the music stopped when turned back on. Maybe it's changed since when the 2015s were new, however.

Gen 6 will play lossless files. I have a usb drive full of flac files for when I don't have a signal. I have 2022 Outback with CD player. It is awkward for the driver to load, even though the player is vertical. I prefer to use music from my iPhone and use the Bluetooth to play through the car system. DanielAcosta.
