Air Arabia‘s old logo used till 2016. Air Arabia (العربية للطيران) was established on 3 February 2003 by an Amiri decree issued by Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah and member of the Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates, becoming the first low-fare airline in the Middle East.

Air Arabia Maroc was founded as a partnership between Air Arabia, Regional Air Lines and Ithmaar Bank. [6] The low-cost carrier was officially launched on 29 April 2009, [7] and started operations on 6 May the same year, [4] with its maiden flight serving the Casablanca–London Stansted route.

[4] The airline secured it operating license from the Egyptian authorities on the 22 May 2010 and began commercial operations on 1 June 2010.
