Firefox has the advantages and disadvantages of engine independence. It can be pushed even further than Brave in terms of "privacy hardness" but also has the downsides. Web developers really only test their sites for Chromium and WebKit, Firefox's Gecko engine is kinda an afterthought.

I keep trying to switch back to firefox every now and again because of the Ublock Origin support. But every time I do switch to firefox it lasts like 3 days and I immediately go back to a chrome based browser. Firefox just sucks. I love the idea behind it and the competition to chrome. But it just sucks. The performance is fucking terrible.

Firefox need to survive and secure funding and the way they get it isn't as sinister as some suggest. It does feel like there is an active campaign to discredit it, and is always the same reasons and the same debate every time. I've used Firefox for years and it's been great and consistent for a long time.

Chrome (and almost every other browser except Firefox and Safari) uses the Chromium engine, a web engine made by Google, this has some benefits like web developers can do less testing, but has some cons like Google will have the control of the decisions made on those browsers, the last one is that they are gonna reduce the adblockers efectiveness via removing Manifest V2 support (don't worry ...

Firefox reliability and performance is worse than a few years ago. Minutes of disk I/O at startup, and occasional hangs when keyboard events are no longer being processed, are normal parts of Firefox underperformance today.

As much as I love Firefox and use it on all my computers, their iOS app is really behind. Firefox Focus is an exception though as the ad and content blocking is great there. But the regular Firefox app is unusable imo. You're better off using AdGuard Pro with Safari, then Firefox Focus for all disposable web browsing.

  10. Which is better? Mozilla Firefox vs Brave : r/browsers - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/browsers/comments/vsl8ch/which_is_better_mozilla_firefox_vs_brave

I personally prefer Firefox over Brave simply because they both do the same thing, but Firefox is not a Chrome clone and it has decent social values as an organization that I personally support. If you are looking for best browser for power consumption then Edge is by far the most efficient on Windows, Safari on macOS and Firefox on Linux.
