Is it safe to get the Microsoft Works free download ISO image from the archive.org page? I'd like to have the MS Works on my laptop running Windows 11 (currently MS 365 has been removed) and found below information. Not sure if this is the best way to get it. Does anyone have an experience on this free ISO download?
There is no download available for works. If you have the disc, try installing it with the disc. For more information on Works, check the link below. If you do not have the disc, you have to purchase it use the applications. If you want to use Word 2007, you can download a 60 day trial and use it for free for 60 days.
I did download and install this version of Works in my test environment, and it looks exactly like my legal version, but unless I'm sure it's OK with MS, I don't want to tell other folks about it. It would seem that logically if MS isn't going to sell or support Works, it ought to be OK, but what's legal and what's logical often don't match!

Microsoft Works is very old software that hasn't been sold for years. It's not supported on Windows 10. That doesn't necessarily mean that it won't work at all on Windows 10. It means that Microsoft hasn't tested it on Windows 10 and hasn't continued to keep it up-to-date with all the changes to Windows over the years.
