March 27, 1980. ( 1980-03-27) An architect arrested for vandalizing a building he originally designed claims to have planted bombs in the building. Two thugs hold the squad hostage to free their boss. Dietrich balks at being on restricted duty, as a result of his recent arrest, and Harris worries about his vacation plans being ruined.
A girl's parents claim that she has been brainwashed by a cult and want Barney to rescue her. A woman shoots her husband for seeing a sex therapist, while Harris investigates thefts by juvenile delinquents. Harris's moonlighting as a building's Captain of Security interferes with his job at the precinct.

An out-of-work Wall Street stockbroker is arrested for begging, which turns out to be a shock to his wife.
