To create proxies: Right-click on the source viewer (or onto a selection of clips in Project Contents) and select "Clip Commands.Media.Make proxy". To enable proxy editing: Select "Project.Video.Playback media quality" "Lowest available” from Project menu (upper left hand side).
This can reduce the memory usage caused by media. Up to Lightworks 2020.1.1, only before the effects pipeline; with future versions (or the current beta), also in the effects pipeline. Proxies also reduce CPU load when decoding video.

Updated Lightworks 2023.2 Release Installers Now Available To Download. We have updated the installers for 2023.2 with revision 143744. This new build now has helpful links on the hints popups that link to the new online Knowledge Base and even includes the ability to change the colour on Bins/Groups as well as adding in Notes metadata!
None of my videos now play audio when in the editing window - only just happened. The audio exports to the destination when rendered, just no playback at all during editing which is making this software pretty much redundant. Sorted it. Lightworks had decided to switch output to another device in the main settings window before opening a video.

Lightworks comes up with the "Loading dialog" but after a while it just starts sitting there doing nothing, consuming 0 CPU. Clicking on the dialog dismisses it, leaving no traces of Lightworks running (nothing shows up in the Task Manager). If I do not click it, I get the infamous "The Lightworks system is not responding.

I seem to be having an issue with the audio thats in clips that I import into lightworks. There is no sound from the clips, or occasionally right at the start of the clips I get a short burst of sound ( .5 seconds ) and then nothing. They are recorded on an Akaso V50x camera in MP4 format. I can hear the audio in the video editor that ships ...
