Viewing frustum. v. t. e. A bird's-eye view is an elevated view of an object or location from a very steep viewing angle, creating a perspective as if the observer were a bird in flight looking downward. Bird's-eye views can be an aerial photograph, but also a drawing, and are often used in the making of blueprints, floor plans and maps.
Glover was born near Battle Creek, Michigan in August 1845. At 16, Glover taught school for a short time and then attended a course at the Art League in New York. Using some of his training in painting and lithography, he formed a business making "bird's-eye views" or "pictorial plats of cities" including depictions of homes and buildings.
A floor plan is not a top view or birds eye view. It is a measured drawing to scale of the layout of a floor in a building. A top view or bird's eye view does not show an orthogonally projected plane cut at the typical four foot height above the floor level. A floor plan could show: interior walls and hallways; restroom; windows and doors
