If you get games from Vimm or the archive.org main file they are in folder format. If you follow the guide on RPCS3s website it will tell you where to put the folders within the folder structure the emulator creates as it mimics the folder structure of the ps3 to run games from.
ISOs are just Digital copies of a disk and you mount them on the PS3 from Webman or MultiMan, while PKGs you install onto the console which is the main reason why I prefer ISOs, I can just connect an external SSD with all the ISO files and launch the games from there instead of using precious PS3 HDD space
Once you have found a game and downloaded the archived BD folder, you need to extract it. Open 7-Zip and extract [Game].7z into your preferred folder. Once that's done, open PS3 ISO TOOLS V2.2.rar with 7-zip. Once finished extracting the iso builder, open the .exe file and enter all of the info (i.e. Firmware patch, BD folder, Destination etc.)

All, I recently acquired PS3 rom's from Romsfun, and they came downloaded as .ISO files. I havent found a sure fire way to use the .ISO games so that I can use the emulator and the files with Launchbox as my front end. The only path is to mount the image, but I cannot actually add the game directory of .iso files as RPCS3 doesn't recognize them ...

Go back to the ISO and THEN right click. Use the Open With option and choose the Extractor program. Go ahead and extract. It should either leave you with 2 or 3 files/folders or one with the 2/3 inside of it. If they're separate, go ahead and toss that into a folder with the game's name. It's super easy to make.
Thank you, it works flawlessly with the EBOOT hack and ManaGuZ. Though I think my PS3 hates running this game because when I try to shut down the console, or do anything outside the deathmatch zone, it freezes for a minute before my PS3 double beeps and either restarts or shuts down. Guess that's just prototype software being prototype software.
