In any case, when I buy travel insurance, it’s primarily for emergency medical, and I use Allianz (usually the one that comes with Marriott). They have good medical coverage. My friend who has worked in insurance for decades uses Chubb. That said, the only time I’ve claimed against travel was with my credit card for damaged baggage.

I filed a claim 02/11/2022 to be reimbursed for covid-19 travel delays (with all the proper documents asked for). I got an automated message on 2/28 saying they received my documents. Haven’t heard from them since. Update: called Trawick International today (4/6/2022) and waited 41 minutes to get a Service rep.
Will travel to Switzerland, would like to buy some travel insurance, mostly to cover medical emmergency expenses and medical transport back to USA. I’ve done some research and I think the 2 companies that might be my pick is Tinleg and Allianz. I’ve read some user reviews on both BBB and their own websites.
Most are around $100 per claim, so they won't cover you for smaller claims. Some policies will let bring the excess down by paying more up front. It's more a comfort level, personally I'm happy for an excess of between 100-200 dollars. Be awarw Credit card insurance excess can be a little higher, around $250 per claim.
As I'm compiling evidence of a possible scam to report to the mods of the sub, I notice the mods are some of the same users making the posts and the entire sub is only a couple of months old. Pacific Cross Travel Safe is usually cheaper vs AXA Smart Traveller without discount. It's just a matter of preference as long as within the top insurers. The minor difference I noticed is that AXA sends COVID coverage cert automatically upon purchase. I’ve always bought from Malayan, since it’s relatively inexpensive.
Don't believe it. I booked my flight with Kayak for return 9/21. It was suggested that I buy flight insurance, I chose Allianz, paid $109. Long story short, my flight was cancelled due to "mechanical failure", delayed for 2 day in Denver, required to purchased 2 new tickets to get home. Extra costs of over $1,100.
