I love Rose of Sharon. Have always had them. Have 7 right now. Mine are all from the stock my g/mother had on her property, and my family has been propagating them since she died in 1976.
- Sprouts (cheaper) or Whole Foods 365 or better yet, the regular Whole Foods (pricier) - Stater Bros. - Pretty good for overall shopping & good prices, but lousy organic produce selection - Trader Joe's if I still want to get some extra goodies.
Water sprouts are new growth shoots that are usually vertical to the parent branch and the joint between the sprout and the branch is weak. Trees usually produce them due to stress like root loss or damage, storm damage, tree topping, disease, over pruning, improper thinning, drought and other reasons.

We moved into a new home in April out here in East Mesa and it looks like the previous owners had a Sissoo tree, but removed it. However, the suckers/sprouts are still popping up all over my back yard, even in the middle of my grass. Everyone seems to have a different answer (using RoundUp, GroundClear, salt, pulling the roots out, etc.).

Sprouts made a business decision to close multiple locations based on a restructuring of their business model. Has nothing to do with Sugar Land. 05-26-2023, 12:17 AM
They've subleased some of the other locations to competitors (Sprouts, Earth Fare), or in some cases to chains which have nothing to do with food (Michael's Arts and Crafts, Container Store). Just because Fresh Market built it and decided not to move into it doesn't necessarily mean it will lay empty and unproductive.
