For example, anyone who works or worked for government, government out-sourcing or ex-nationalised companies is eligible for membership of CSMA for £15 pa which includes legal cover for the member and spouse.
So it makes sense to take out the additional CDW cover to bring the excess charge down to a more reasonable £100 or even zero. The daily rate for additional CDW is in the order of £8 to £10 per day pushing up the cost of a week's hire by around 30%. This seems to be excessive.
