I've inadvertently bought Xbox Live Gold instead of Game Pass Ultimate, (my fault - didn't read the description properly on Ebay; I was tired). I've previously had gold for 12 months, but when I tried to convert to Ultimate it turned into 4 Months of Ultimate. So I lost out big time.
Simply put, you can't get a refund for a code that has already been redeemed. If you are interested in a refund in the future for any other subscription that has been purchased through a payment instrument directly (like a credit/debit card), then I would suggest going to Request an Xbox digital product or subscription refund.

Since you are indeed an Xbox Insider, please submit a report to Team Xbox using Xbox Insider Hub app on Xbox Console. This way your account will be investigated by the team as to why you did not have the Xbox Live Gold badge.
Since last year, Xbox started giving badges to those who had or already had an Xbox Live Gold subscription, I've been using my account since 2015, I've always subscribed to Xbox Live Gold and Game Pass Ultimate, but we're in 2024 and I haven't received the badge yet, ALL my friends on Xbox have received it, just me not.
